I defend my departmental honors thesis project, Memoir to Meaning: A Narrative and Analysis of Childhood Experiences. Based on phenomenological research on my own childhood experiences I discover the importance of childhood years and find ways to incorporate my findings into my own visual arts classroom in the future. This study includes seven short stories accompanied by a focused analysis of one experience, as well as a general analysis of my overall findings. I hope you will join me as I present my research and hold a discussion with my Thesis Director, Dr. Vicky Grube, Reader, Dr. Emily Hood, Director of Departmental Honors for Visual Arts, Dr. Mira Waits, and Dean of the Honors College, Jefford Vahlbusch.
